City of Tustin Receives 20,000 Surgical Masks for its Police Department and Staff

WeTogether, an OC-based Non-Profit, Makes Donation to Support First Responders and Those at Risk During COVID-19 Crisis

Tustin, CA (April 23, 2020) – To help those on the front lines and those most at risk in this coronavirus crisis, WeTogether, an Orange County-based non-profit, has donated 20,000 surgical masks to the City of Tustin police department. The masks will be used for first responders and City staff.

“We appreciate the generous donation of 20,000 masks from LEAD OC’s We Together committee. Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our first responders and essential employees has always been a top priority for us and this donation will help in the fight against the spreading of COVID-19.” said Tustin Mayor Dr. Allan Bernstein.

“There are so many people on the front line in this crisis and we want to do what we can to make a difference,” said Huijun Ge and Zaiyang Zhu of WeTogether. “We have been able to bring together our resources to help the healthcare community and now we are providing critical equipment to first responders and making sure those at risk have much-needed supplies as well. We are honored to support our local communities in Orange County and plan to do more.”

WeTogether is a collaboration of local business leaders and members of non-profit LEAD OC working together to source in demand personal protective equipment including masks, shields, gowns and even CAPR for first responders and healthcare workers. WeTogether has already sourced around the globe and donated more than 50,000 surgical masks to UCI Health, Fountain Valley Hospitals, and some elderly condensed neighborhoods. The team is broadening its reach to support first responders and at-risk populations and is encouraging the business community to join in donating supplies. The team is also encourage more people to participate working together for more agendas such as food providing for the less privileged and contribution recognition for the heroes in our communities.

WeTogether in collaboration with LEAD OC will continue to be a resource for Orange County businesses and individuals who want to donate or participate.
